We audited the design deck. We audited the journal. There is overlap. There is concerning overlap. In the interest of transparency, and because it's already too late to pretend otherwise, here are ten things we have both printed on a shirt and also said out loud to a professional.
- "I'm fine."
- "Available for wine and existential crises."
- "Just kiss me."
- "Not today."
- "Emotionally unavailable but trying."
- "I've been better."
- "I don't want to be perceived."
- "Please don't ask how I am."
- "I'm the problem, it's me." (Yes, we know.)
- "Send help. Or a snack. Preferably both."
What this tells us
Nothing new. That the shirts have always been an outsourcing project. That there's a very short distance between what you journal, what you text your best friend, and what you're comfortable wearing to Zara.
The point of the brand isn't that the sentences are novel. It's that most people won't say them out loud. The shirt does. Now the whole day, that sentence is done. You didn't have to bring it up.
A very short note on the difference
Therapy: process the feeling.
Shirt: publish the feeling.
Both count.
If we're being honest, the shirt gets more compliments. Therapy gets better long-term outcomes. We recommend both.
What's next
The next drop is queued and it's the most confessional lineup we've done. If any of the ten above hit — you'll want to be on the list. Sign up at the bottom of any product page and you'll get first access, plus a small welcome code.
Meanwhile, everything currently in the drop is here.
You'll wear at least one of these to your next therapy appointment. It's fine. Your therapist has definitely seen worse.
